One of these days I want to do something with my four 15" McCauely woofers.

I've seen a few McCauley's marked "Made in Russia" on ebay....... any ideas?

Forgot to add this....... I also developed in the early 80's, a rock sound system that could project 130db sound levels 300 or 400 feet. One of the first clear 4-way systems that included massive sub-woofers ( 8 McCauley 6244 woofers in Altec 210 cabinets, 16 McCauley 6326 Mid-range drivers and 24 Altec 288C's mounted on Altec 203B horns.) OUCH The McCauley woofers and drivers will soon be listed for bidding.

I didn't care for the comb filtering issues from too many HF drivers.

I used 290's - 16 of them. They are actually slightly more efficient, handle more power, and don't forget reliable. Dual 290's on 1003's make one heckuva racket. And stacked 3-4 high certainly project. OTOH the large clusters of piezos certainly had comb filtering issues. But seems less noticeable at high freqs as the wavelength is shorter.
